Metron: Time for iPhone

Privacy Policy

Effective date:

Metron is designed to keep practice data under your control. This policy explains what the iPhone app handles, where that information is stored, and the choices available to you.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Metron: Time iPhone app published by ZIYØN SAS.

It does not describe data handling on the ziyon.fr website. The website has its own privacy notice, linked below.

2. Information handled by the app

Metron handles only the information needed to provide its features. Depending on what you choose to enter or save, this can include:

App settings
A musician display name and preferences such as default tempo, sound, haptics, appearance, and click selection.
BPM presets
Saved tempo and rhythm details, optional preset notes, and the date associated with a saved entry.

3. Local storage and private CloudKit sync

Metron stores settings and presets in the app’s local data container on your device.

When iCloud is available, Apple CloudKit may synchronize this information through your private iCloud database so it can remain available across your devices. Private CloudKit records belong to the iCloud user and are not visible to ZIYØN through the Apple developer portal.

4. Information ZIYØN does not collect through Metron

The Metron iPhone app:

  • does not access the microphone or record audio;
  • does not include advertising or analytics SDKs;
  • does not track you across apps or websites;
  • does not send your display name, preferences, or BPM presets to a ZIYØN-operated server;
  • does not sell personal information.

5. How information is used

Information handled by the app is used only to:

  • remember your metronome preferences;
  • display, edit, and organize the BPM presets you choose to save;
  • synchronize that app data through your private iCloud database when the service is available.

6. Apple services

Metron uses Apple platform services, including iCloud and CloudKit. Apple may independently process account, diagnostic, and service information under its own privacy policy and your Apple Account settings.

ZIYØN does not control Apple’s independent processing.

7. Retention and deletion

Saved BPM presets can be deleted in the app. Other local settings remain until you change them through an available control, delete the app, or erase the device.

Deleting the app removes its local copy. Information already synchronized to your private iCloud database may remain in your iCloud account under Apple’s retention and synchronization behavior. You can use Apple’s iCloud data-management tools or contact Apple Support for help managing that data.

Because ZIYØN cannot view or retrieve a user’s private CloudKit records through the developer portal, we cannot directly locate or delete those records on your behalf.

8. Your choices and rights

You can choose what display name, preferences, notes, and presets to enter. Where the app provides edit or delete controls, you can use them to correct or remove saved content.

For privacy questions or requests concerning information held directly by ZIYØN, contact us below. If your request concerns private iCloud data that ZIYØN cannot access, we will explain that limitation and direct you to the relevant Apple resources.

9. Children

Metron is a general-audience music utility. It does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a developer-operated service.

10. Security

Metron limits data handling to the app’s local container and Apple’s private CloudKit service. Device and iCloud protections are provided by Apple. No method of storage is completely risk-free, so keep your device and Apple Account protected.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Metron’s features or data practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current published policy.
